Giardina's, one of the Mississippi Delta's most historic restaurants, was founded in 1936 by Joseph Giardina, in Greenwood, Mississippi. Originally located on Park Avenue, Giardina's is now located at 314 Howard Street, adjacent to the chic new Alluvian Hotel in historic downtown Greenwood. Frank Leflore, the new proprietor of Giardina's says, "Our customers enjoy the same outstanding Giardina's food and excellent service with new additions to the original menu. We have maintained the integrity of Giardina's while creating a dining atmosphere that stays true to our history". A unique blend of sophistication and warmth, Giardina's is the perfect setting for any event from a classic cocktail party to a family celebration. Seating consists of fourteen private booths and fourteen general seating tables in three main dining areas. The large dining room opens onto a beautiful courtyard and accommodates groups of up to 55. Considerable effort was made to retain the character and charm of the original Giardina's, but the white tablecloths, fine crystal and premium Viking cutlery add the feeling of elegance one would expect from a fine dining restaurant in a large metropolitan area. Giardina's bar, reminiscent of a bygone era, features the same dark wood and tile of the restaurant while offering today's premium liquors, wines and liqueurs. The restaurant's interior space was designed by ForrestPerkins Architects of Washington, DC and Dallas. ForrestPerkins also designed the interior of The Alluvian. Giardina's state-of-the-art kitchen was designed by Mark Stech-Novak of Oakland, California. Stech-Novak has designed kitchens of such high-profile restaurants as La Cirque and Jean George's in New York City and Wolfgang Puck's Postrio in Las Vegas. Featuring steaks, seafood and Italian cuisine, Giardina's accommodates up to 130 patrons. The atmosphere is old world elegant but dress is laid-back "Delta casual".
