Description of Witt Plastics , Inc.
Founded in 1972, Witt Plastics is an ISO 9001:2000-registered custom sheet extruder specializing in the manufacture of premium quality, thin gauge, rigid thermoplastic sheet products in both cut sheets and rollstock form. The sheet products that we make and sell are subsequently converted by our customers into many different final products. These include thermoformed trays and cup-style containers used to package single portion servings of various dairy and other food products; trays for one-time use medical devices and other medical and pharmaceutical products; conductive, static-dissipative trays to package sensitive electronic components, and many other thermoformed consumer and industrial products, components and parts. Another major use area for our sheet products is in printed or silk-screened signs, point-of-purchase (POP) displays, and horticulture tags and labels. What distinguishes and makes us a "custom" extruder is, quite simply, the fact that each and every order that we process and deliver to our customer is produced to individual order. When a customer places an order for sheet or rollstock, the order usually includes a set of specifications and product parameters unique to that customer. In accepting a customer's order, we make a promise to that customer to adhere to each of these requirements when we produce and deliver the order. The typical custom sheet order will generally include a set of specifications that stipulate: Witt Product Code and/or generic material type (special material grades can be ordered); Color and surface finish or embossed texture; Sheet size and dimensional tolerances; Any special attributes that are unique to that customer or to a specific application. Purchasers of custom sheet typically operate at a zero or near-zero inventory of any particular sheet or rollstock item. Consequently, together with product quality and consistency, adherence to requested and promised delivery dates, quick turnaround times and a responsiveness to ever-changing marketplace demands are prime requisites in satisfying the needs, wants and expectations of every sheet and rollstock customer.
