Freedom House Ministries was founded in 1991 to create a safe positive atmosphere in which to help homeless families. Using the principles of love and servanthood, we are here to help families around us that are in need. Believing that this was a vision given, it took a step in faith to build a new shelter for families in Green Bay, Wisconsin. With only $1,000.00 down on a land contract, we purchased a warehouse, raised remodeling money and built bathrooms, a kitchen, four bedrooms, staff quarters and an office. Wisconsin Public Service paid for and installed the heating. We opened our doors to our first families on February 6, 1992. In 2004, Freedom House moved into a 18,500 sq.ft. facility located at 2997 St. Anthony Drive in Green Bay. The new location provides shelter for 12-18 families at one time, up from four families at the old location. The purchase also included two other buildings to be used for the Freedom House programs. We have been blessed to serve many families over the years, see our Families Served page, and we are very excited about rescuing even more children in the upcoming years. It is truly fulfilling to see how God touches the lives of homeless families through the giving and caring hearts of His people.
