Bowwave Partners Inc. is a Technology Consulting firm located in Great Falls, VA. Since 2003 Bowwave has provided services to clients that range in size from large Fortune 500 corporations to startups. Bowwaves' core competence is in Web based application development - taking advantage of application server technologies such as Microsoft .NET and IBM WebSphere® . These technologies allow for server based design and browser based delivery of powerful enterprise level applications. Bowwave Partners uses a modified-Rational Unified Process (RUP) approach to software development, in order to remain adaptable to varying user requirements while still maintaining an overall process framework. This allows our customers and our developers to select the elements of the process that are appropriate for their needs. We work with the client to ascertain the core functionality needed and develop a strategy based on six foundational best practices defined by RUP and implemented in and Bowwave projects. Through iterative software development, management of requirements, the use of component based architecture, visually modeled software, quality assurance and change control processes, Bowwave is able assure the most complete and quality software product. This allows us to lower the time and resources required for the requirements gathering phases and to get functionality in the hands of users faster. We use the client extensively in the development process, providing several iterative steps in any release to review the system, and make near real-time adjustments allowing the customer to actually see functionality and then make decisions instead of having to visualize everything in a written document. The advantage of this is that the best and most important feedback comes from the initial users of a product and since multiple releases are already planned, it's easy to ensure their feedback is incorporated.
