Central Texas Treatment Center is an intensive residential substance abuse treatment center for probationers who have committed felonies and have alcohol and/or drug abuse problems. This facility has been in operation in Georgetown, Texas since 1990 and recently moved to a larger facility in Granger, Texas, approximately 17 miles from the original location. It is a co-ed program serving men and women of all ethnic groups from all over the state. Our admissions policy excludes those people with Title V violations, recent assaultive histories and recent histories of suicide and serious mental illness/retardation. We take clients age 17 to 70. Our intake coordinator, Diane Dossett will be glad to discuss admissions with you. It's All About CHANGE! This court-ordered treatment program facilitates change in the client and encourages a lifestyle free from chemical dependency and criminal conduct. The program is cognitive based. We believe that our thoughts control our behavior. All elements of the program help clients focus on how their thoughts affect their feelings, and their behavior. The program has the client pay close attention to risk thoughts that lead to risky behaviors. They explore relapse situations, how to understand the feelings of others, how to respond to anger, and how to resolve problems. They are encouraged to develop new thinking that will lead to new behaviors. The objective of the program is for the client to make much needed personal changes in their lives.
