Kent County Emergency Medical Services has been designated by the Emergency Medical Service Division of the Michigan Department of Community Health as the Medical Control Authority (MCA) for Kent County and portions of Ottawa County. Participants in KCEMS include area hospitals, transporting agencies and non transporting agencies. It is the mission of Kent County Emergency Medical Services to provide for optimal care for the ill or injured patient through continued development of an emergency medical services system in the Kent County Medical Control Region which will include plans for the implementation and provision of:A coordinated emergency medical services systemThe dispatch of emergency medical services resourcesThe treatment and transportation of persons in need of pre-hospital medical care in the most prompt and efficient manner possibleA coordinated medical response to mass casualty and disaster situationsEducational programs necessary to maintain the expected level of patient careLiaison with governmental agenciesOther activites as dictated by the KCEMS Governing Body or the Michigan Department of Community Health
