Ken Postema, Bill Landheer and Bill's son Steve Landheer established Color House Graphics in September 1987. Both Ken and Bill were previously employed at Zondervan Corporation, a Grand Rapids based Christian book publishing company. Both Bill and Ken held key management positions at Zondervan before their jobs were eliminated following the closing of Zondervan's in-house printing division. Steve Landheer owned a book bindery in Grand Rapids at the time and became part of the nucleolus. They rolled up their sleeves and quickly assembled a small group of other former Zondervan employees and invested in just enough printing and binding equipment to start their business rolling forward. They brought together their unique skills and experience to form one of the fastest growing book manufacturing companies in the U.S. The values and experience they shared continues to drive the company forward meeting the needs of both our customers and our employees. From the very beginning, Color House Graphics has continuously updated and modernized its equipment with the most current, yet proven, technology available. Always using the technology advances to provide better quality, service and economy. The leadership team also understood the value that people make in achieving the long term success of the business. By creating a clean, safe and pleasant work environment where change is not only welcome but a way of life, people feel free to work together to solve problems and the organization is better able to meet customer needs and expectations consistently. In 2002, Bill Landheer retired from the business leaving Ken and Steve as co-owners. Today the company remains a privately held business that combines quality manufacturing and state-of-the art equipment with a friendly, helpful customer service and sales staff that is ready to assist you. The culture created by the founders of Color House Graphics continues to allow us to meet the ever changing needs of our customers.
