MeadWestvaco Corporation (MeadWestvaco) provides packaging solutions to brands in the food and beverage, media and entertainment, personal care, home and garden, cosmetics, and health care industries. The Company operates in four business segments, including Packaging Resources, Consumer Solutions, Consumer & Office Products, and Specialty Chemicals. In September 2007, the Company acquired Hayes Products, a manufacturer of hose-end sprayer systems, and Keltec Dispensing Systems, a foamer and airless dispensing systems manufacturer. During the year ended December 31, 2007, MeadWestvaco established a new business unit, Community Development and Land Management Group, which is engaged in real estate development activities, such as obtaining entitlements and establishing joint ventures. In September 2008, the Company announced that it completed the sale of its Specialty Papers Cedar mill in Potsdam, New York, to Potsdam Specialty Paper, Inc. (PSPI).
