Info

Valley Public Television Inc. (VPTV) is a Nonprofit, Low Power Television station (LPTV) located in Glasgow Montana. We have an elected board with 3 members, President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. We are a part of a larger organization called Two Rivers Growth. VPTV transmits a 20 Watt UHF signal on channel 30, and is rebroadcast on channel 14, 42 and 45. Our area of coverage serves many small, rural communities that do not have access to cable TV, including a portion of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. VPTV broadcasts PBS, locally produced or provided programming, and local information to a large portion of Valley County in northeast Montana. VPTV's Studio and transmitter are located in Glasgow High School in Glasgow Montana. The station was established in 2000 through the support of local businesses and individuals, and is run completely by volunteers. Contributions to VPTV are Tax deductible, our Tax ID is available upon request, and we qualify as a 501c3. We sell our signal to the local TV district for rebroadcast; they pay us $1300.00 a month. We spend approximately $1350.00 a month on regular bills, which include fees for programming, phone bill, and web hosting. The rest of our expenses include office supplies, video equipment, editing equipment, TV Receivers, and broadcasting equipment. We pay for and maintain these items with money that we collect through fundraisers including sponsorship ads on the TV station, contributions, and raffles.
