Partek Forest Inc offers three dangle-type harvesting heads from Valmet-the 945, the 960 and the 965-that feature large diameter feed rollers with high net feeding force at high speed. Angled rollers hold the trunk firmly against the support rollers, allowing accurate length measuring and low knife pressure. The shapes of all five delimbing knives are complementary to each other for good results in all diameters. With 25" and 29 1/2" cutting capacities, the Valmet heads offer spring-loaded top knives, three same-size cylinders, exact measuring with easy calibration, efficient saw function and a patented cam curve design of feed rollers for gripping stems. The sawbox is designed for low stump height. Regular feed roller Tireco chains and more aggressive rubber-cushioned spikes are available as necessary. All three models offer the Valmet maxi control system.
