Cornerstone Inn was established in 1995, opening Memorial Day weekend. The innkeepers, Don and Kay Cooper, have achieved their dream of owning and operating a Bed and Breakfast in their favorite vacation spot, the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Don is a graduate of Union University (Jackson, TN) and spent 30 plus years as a purchasing agent in the Aluminum industry. Kay graduated from Brescia College (Owensboro, KY), previously employed as a social worker in the long-term care field. Don & Kay have 2 sons, Kevin & Chris. Kevin is a Western KY Univ. (Bowling Green) graduate working with motivational media presenting educational assembly programs, designed to combat drug & alcohol abuse, in schools across the country. Chris is a graduate of Univ. of Louisville in Louisville, KY. He served in the US Army as an x-ray specialist, achieving the rank of Sgt. after a tour of duty in Italy, he currently resides in Louisville, KY with his wife Sherri, and son Matthew and is employed at Baptist Hospital. The Coopers relocated to the Smoky Mountains area from Kentucky, having lived there for 22 years. Originally, they were from West Tennessee (Jackson) and Northeastern Mississippi (Tupelo).
