Proto-Cutter, Inc. was founded in 1991 as a reamer re-sharpening shop in a 2,000 sq. ft. space in Rockford, IL. In 1994 reamer production began and the first CNC sharpening machine was purchased. Over the next two years our reputation as a quality reamer manufacturer grew which led to the purchase of our second CNC sharpening machine. With the purchase of this machine, we branched out into the custom tool industry. Throughout the next two decades, we have improved our capabilities by keeping up with the latest advancements in the industry, and have become a premier custom cutting tool manufacturer. Although we may be known for reamers, we offer so much more!
