"The mission of the Frederick Police Department is to provide professional Police services in partnership with our community."The Frederick Police Department is a law enforcement agency that serves the citizens and communities of the City of Frederick. Sworn law enforcement professionals dedicate themselves to serve and to protect while professional civilian employees function in support capacities.The Department has adopted and maintains a philosophy dedicated to the tenets of community policing. Therein, the law enforcement officer and the citizenry of the jurisdiction work together to overcome problems and achieve public security goals.Divided into three bureaus, Administrative, Operations and Support Services, the Department provides twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week law enforcement services for the nearly fifty-three thousand residents of Frederick's approximately twenty square miles. The Administrative and the Operations Bureaus are commanded by captains while the Support Services is managed by a civilian director. Six lieutenants and two civilian managers oversee the Department's eight Divisions. Six independent squads, working ten and a half hour shifts, each supervised by a sergeant and a corporal, provide continuous crime prevention and calls for service coverage.We have Pride in our community, in Our Department,
