Integrated BioTherapeutics (IBT) is an emerging research-based biotechnology company using an integrated multidisciplinary approach for discovery and development of anti-infective vaccines and drugs with an emphasis on emerging infectious disease and biodefense. The primary focus of IBT is development of vaccines for Staphylococcal enterotoxins. These vaccines are intended for (i) prophylaxis against a biowarfare/bioterror attack, (ii) development of immunotherapeutics for treatment of toxic shock syndrome, and (iii) development of multivalent Staphylococcus vaccines targeting both the bacteria and their toxins to prevent hospital-acquired infections. Furthermore, IBT has strong discovery and development programs for development of antibiotics against resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus, as well as antivirals against hemorrhagic fever viruses. To conduct its product development plan, IBT has established cooperative relationships and partnerships with US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), Frederick, MD, Functional Genetics Inc., Gaithersburg, MD, and Becton Dickinson and Company, Research Triangle, NC.
