Sports Image, Inc. ® (SII) was founded by Eric Horstman in February of 2002. Previous to that, Eric sold his shares in another marketing company that he co-owned for 4 years. This allowed him to concentrate his efforts on extending his unique marketing programs to high schools and colleges across the country through various innovative ideas. An organization being only as good as the people in it, Eric surrounded himself with a quality sales and administrative team with a combined 87 years of sales and management experience to expand the reach of SII across the country. SII is currently headquartered in Franklin, Ohio. In March 2002, SII went online at www.sportsimageinc.com. In April 2002, the North Carolina State Athletic Association (NCHSAA) became the first state to endorse SII and their program. The NCHSAA has helped to market the concept to all of their member schools. Since April, several other state athletic organizations have also become a part of the SII network. On April 22, 2003, Sports Image, Inc. ® became a registered trademark with the United States Patent & Trademark agency. SII is also an integral component of a new international boy's high school basketball tournament held annually in January in Dayton, Ohio entitled "Flyin' to the Hoop" (www.flyintothehoop.com).
