Ladies Workout Express offers busy women of all ages an opportunity to dash in, get a well-planned workout and be on their way in just over 30 minutes. The club is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Saturday and 4-8:30 p.m. weekdays. Hours of operation may increase as membership grows, Walker said. Heidi Impellizzeri describes her time at Ladies Workout Express as "awesome." The Macomb Township resident is pleased with her elevated mood and levels of energy and health. "When I'm not working out, I wish I was," Impellizzeri said. "The people there are extremely nice, plus the facility is beautiful with great equipment." Exercise equipment is designed and engineered to accommodate women at all fitness levels. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based franchises Lady of America and Ladies Workout Express offer women a non-competitive setting in which to grow comfortable with their workout regimen. Walker said most members are weighed and measured with each visit in order to chart progress, but it's not a requirement. The Macomb Township franchise has a 16-station rectangle of exercise stations atop a large, deep-pink carpet. "This is our featured 32-minute hydraulic interval circuit training in which the person moves to the next station every 40 seconds," said employee Lori Capozzo. "We recommend coming in three times a week for optimum cardiovascular and strength training results." Walker said there is a coach on the floor at all times to assist or encourage members as they move from resistance-adjustable muscle-building equipment to resilient horizontal pads for aerobics. With less than a minute at each stop, there is no time to get bored. The woman exercises at her own pace, Walker said. Ladies Workout Express has one, two and three-year memberships. Walker said there is a for-fun raffle each week. Prizes have included pedicures and visits to the tanning facility next door.
