Mayers Memorial Hospital medical laboratory offers inpatient, out patient, and emergency room patient testing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The lab provides many services, including: bacteriology, blood gases, chemistry, hematology, mycology, parasitology, coagulation, point-of-care testing, syphilis serology, toxicology, transfusion medicine, urinalysis, PSA, for prostate screening, and the new cardiac marker "Troponin 1" to rule out heart attack. The lab has received accreditation from CLIA and the California Department of Public Health. Laboratory testing is performed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with state-of-the-art technology to assure timely test results. The majority of tests are performed onsite. Occasional tests will be referred to designated reference laboratories. Out patient laboratory phlebotomy service is provided at the Hospital and at the Annex in Burney. The main laboratory is open from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 7 days a week and a Technologist is available on call for emergencies after hours. The Annex is open for phlebotomy Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
