Originally known as the Peoples States Bank of Northrop, Minnesota, the Bank moved to Fairmont, Minnesota in 1968. It became an original corner tenant of the Fairmall Shopping Center and changed its name to the State Bank of Fairmont. The Bank purchased the former JC Penney automotive center near the intersection of Blue Earth Ave. and South State Street in Fairmont, Minnesota in 1995. After an extensive remodeling project, the Bank moved to its present location at 918 E Blue Earth Ave, Fairmont, MN in October of 1996. This gives the Bank its own identity along with a much more accessible and convenient location for both walk-in and drive-thru banking.
