The I Supply Company has been providing continuous distribution to retailers and businesses since 1944, just at the end of World War II. Founded by Joseph Parisi in Springfield, Ohio, our company was originally named Paul's Cigarette and Tobacco, and provided candy and tobacco products to supermarkets, gas stations, and other retailers. Although the business was very successful, our first major expansion occurred in 1959 with the purchase of another distributing company, Springfield Paper & Merchandising. In 1966, the candy and tobacco lines were spun off so the organization could focus on paper and janitorial distribution. Shortly thereafter, the company was renamed the I Supply Company , the "I" being short for "industrial" and/or "institutional." Then, in 1968, Jerry Parisi, son of the founder, was named president of the company. Joseph Parisi retained the duties of Chief Executive Officer. In April of 1974, our founder, Joseph Parisi, passed away. At that time, Jerry Parisi assumed ownership of the organization and is still president to this day. In February of 1982, the I Supply Company was asked by an existing customer in the franchise restaurant business to provide full service, one stop delivery to all of their units. That opportunity opened other doors for us to become a "customized" or "systems" food service distributor for other franchise restaurants, as well as a full-line paper distributor. Due to fortunate and rapid growth, the I Supply Company had outgrown its facility in Springfield. In 1987, we moved our headquarters to Fairborn, Ohio, just off of I-675, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Logistically, it was an ideal location for distribution providing easy access to both I-70 and I-75. To this day, we call this location our home. Since then, a third generation of the Parisi family has joined the organization to help continue the traditions of the I Supply Company. In August of 1998, the I Supply Company began a major expansion project to our facility. We added a new 38,000 sq. foot freezer and cooler expansion, including 6 new refrigerated docks. It was completed in the third quarter of 1999, and gives us a new total of 108,000 square feet of multi-use warehouse and distribution space. Today, the I Supply Company has evolved into one of Ohio's largest full-service distributor of customized food services - plus a full-line of paper, maintenance, and janitorial supplies.
