Westwood Forest Products is a diversified lumber wholesale company. We began business in 1989 with a staff of four. Today we have grown to a staff of twenty-four working from offices in Everett, WA, Vancouver, WA and Chillan, Chile. In addition we have six contract agents on salary in Brazil and Russia. In 2002 Westwood imported into the United States over a thousand containers from Chile, Brazil, and Russia. We exported like numbers to Asia during this period. We have moved from dealing strictly with softwoods to shipping nearly two thousand trucks of hardwood lumber in 2002. When we started you could name the species we supplied our customer with on two hands. This list has grown from Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Pine, Red Cedar, Alder and others to include: Birch, Hackberry, Eastern White Pine, Radiata Pine, Taeda Pine, Pinus Sylvertris, Hickory, European Beech, and many more. With our diversification and extensive supply base we are able to look at the needs of our customers and draw from most of the world in solving lumber requirement problems. Our staff includes personnel that have extensive manufacturing experience that can often help with technical questions regarding wood and its remanufacture. As the manufacturer has moved from buying only lumber to purchasing cutstock, fingerjointed blanks, and other products that are partially manufactured Westwood has developed the expertise and sources to supply these items. As a consequence of this diversification Westwood is now able to offer products as diverse as Birch tabletops, finger jointed Pine blanks, Alder lumber, and face glued posts in a variety of species. We have set up systems to guarantee the quality and service necessary for our customers to feel secure in purchasing value added products from throughout the world.
