Izui Photography is located in Evanston, Illinois. Our studio contains a cyclorama backdrop, ideal for shooting everything from products to full sized automobiles and trucks. Richard Izui is a photographic magician. Even before the explosion in digital imaging, Izui used traditional photographic techniques to create the unbelievable. He made the transition to a fully digital photography studio in 1995. This move was not a leap of faith for Richard, but rather a natural progression. Digital photography enabled him to better realize his photographic sensibilities. Employing state of the art computer equipment with a wealth of experience in traditional photographic camera and lighting special effects, Richard continues to ingeniously execute creative concepts for his clients. Richard started his photography career at Loyola University (Chicago). After leaving Loyola, Richard took classes at Columbia College. At the tender age of 24, he landed a job with Playboy Magazine. He worked there for the next three years, becoming a staff photographer. In 1979, he started his own studio in downtown Chicago. Digital photography holds many advantages over traditional photography:Shooting time is saved because film does not have to be shot for lighting and processing tests. This results in a saving of as much as 3 1/2 hours. The client can approve, on the spot, a high resolution image that best suits the layout. This avoids the time consuming necessity of keeping the same camera and lighting set up until the film comes back, saving as much as 3 hours. Resolution of digitally captured images is 22 megapixels, higher resolution than 4 x 5 film. Retouching can be started immediately after shooting, at a reasonable hourly rate. The end result can be output to CD. If the client requires film, outputs can be made on 4 x 5 transparency. Richard Izui has been involved in commercial photography for over 25 years. His clients include Playboy Magazine, Caterpillar, Toyota, Scion, MiniCooper, Turtlewax, Ford Motor Co., GM, Hollister, Crest, Mobil, Mitutoyo, Sony, RCA, Captain Morgan, Jim Beam, Coca Cola, and others.
