Sara Marberry is the Executive Vice President of The Center for Health Design, a leading nonprofit research and advocacy organization of forward-thinking healthcare and design professionals who are leading the quest to improve the quality of healthcare through building architecture and design. Prior to joining The Center as a full-time employee in August 2006, Sara served as the organization's consulting Director of Communications for 13 years and was Interim President for six months in 1999. With her guidance, The Center has gained international recognition and visibility, which has contributed to increased membership and revenue. An accomplished professional with many years of experience as a marketing strategist, public relations consultant, website manager, writer, and event planner, Sara is a recognized expert in the healthcare design industry. She is the editor/author of five books, and was the editor of the Journal of Healthcare Design, published from 1988-1998. Sara frequently gives presentations at industry conferences and meetings about The Center's work, as well as healthcare design trends. Since 1989, she has also been involved in developing educational programs and webinars for The Center and other companies. Sara's roots in the design industry run deep. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 1990, she was Editor-in-Chief of Contract magazine, a national monthly trade publication read by over 30,000 interior designers and architects. Sara also worked as a Communications Coordinator for the world's largest design center, The Merchandise Mart, in Chicago.
