U.S. Shelter L.L.C. was formed to carry forward construction and ancillary projects. U.S. Shelter Companies' project responsibilities have included land selection and acquisition; zoning, annexation and land planning. The companies then undertake the land development stage with responsibility for mass earth moving, installation of underground improvements -- sewer, public water supply and storm water management plus the coordination of telephone, electric and gas systems. Additionally installation of surface improvements -- roadway base, road surface, curb, gutter and public walks - is performed by the appropriate company unit at each community. The various company units then proceed to the design, construction, marketing, sale and delivery of the home to the consumer. U.S. Shelter has always had a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. We were an early leader in the establishment of H.O.W. (Home Owner's Warranty) program in the Chicagoland area and proudly held the #2 charter membership in that organization. U.S. Shelter is equally proud to have been awarded numerous Gold Key Awards for superior home design. To further validate customer satisfaction U.S. Shelter has partnered with Network Research Systems (NRS Corp.) to provide objective, third-party evaluations of the home-buying experience. NRS Corp will survey recent home buyers and then compile the data to provide a yardstick for customer satisfaction. This is a system for nation-wide ranking of home builders in an effort to maintain quality assurance. Just another example of U.S. Shelter's commitment to excellence. U.S. Shelter companies are affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders, the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chicagoland, Homebuilders Association of Illinois and the Residential Construction Employers Council. Jack Sorenson, President of U.S. Shelter LLC, has made it a policy over the years to "give back" to the building trade.
