Skippers, Inc. was founded in 1969 in Bellevue, Washington and quickly became a Northwest favorite by providing high quality, delicious seafood and fast service. Skippers Seafood 'n Chowder Houses flourished as new restaurants were opened in multiple western states and British Columbia. Over the past 30 years, the Skippers brand has become a Northwest tradition by featuring great fish 'n chips, innovative new products, outstanding value and superior service. In 1989, Kansas-based National Pizza Company purchased Skippers, Inc. and operated it until 1995. In 1995, Skippers was purchased by Meridian Capital and from 1995 thru 2002 the Skippers management team focused on providing high quality seafood offerings and introduced an exciting line of grilled entrees, including grilled Salmon, Halibut, and chicken. Skippers grilled line of products remains a customer favorite and offers a clear alternative to our competitors. Limited time offers such as scallops and Caesar salads have also been introduced. In late 2002, Skippers was purchased by a group of Northwest investors who are passionate about running outstanding restaurants and Skippers Northwest history. Under new ownership the Skippers team has become energized; investing in updating the looks of its restaurants, training of team members, and providing superior customer service. A new logo that reflects Skippers commitment to quality seafood and outstanding restaurant operations was introduced in the spring of 2003. Skippers continues to offer innovative and exciting new products. Skippers presently operates more than 60 restaurants and has locations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Alaska. In addition, Skippers operates Seattle Crab Co., an outstanding full-service seafood restaurant. This unique seafood and variety menu concept is located in Washington state, just northeast of downtown Seattle at Roosevelt Way and Northgate Way in Northgate.
