Info
FWI Healthcare, Inc. was established in March of 1984 with the intent and purpose of providing consulting services to outpatient healthcare providers. While it was not a specific objective, it has resulted in FWI providing nearly 95% of its business to ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs). In this capacity, we have provided the necessary assistance to get from concept through development and into management of the facility. Our programs are structured in such a way that our services are available as individual components or as a complete turnkey package. Our goal is not to manage/develop X number of same day surgical centers. Our goal is to provide excellent management services to a facility that is recognized for quality patient care. The only means FWI has available to measure its success, is the success of its clients. FWI's first project was to provide management services to a six operating room multi-specialty outpatient surgical center. Since then, many of our surgery center development projects have been for physicians and physician groups who find it advantageous to maintain our management assistance during the first years of operation. This enables us to orient their personnel to the efficiencies of a freestanding ASC. We are also able to oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and are available to provide our expertise in various areas that are unique to this type of ambulatory care facility. Hospitals began recognizing that freestanding centers had many benefits that inpatient controlled facilities did not. On that basis, FWI was asked to become more involved in hospital ASCs, from creating cost effective and operationally efficient centers, to improving their management perspective. Hospitals also recognize the advantages of working with their surgical staff in joint venture surgery centers, gaining from FWI's involvement. To date, FWI has been involved in many successful hospital and joint venture projects. The majority of FWI Healthcare's work has been in the development of new ambulatory surgery centers. In this capacity, FWI works with the client in all the preparations that are necessary to create a new ASC from the conceptual planning which will determine the participants, type of facility, physical size and requirements of the building, formation of all of the policy and procedures, and gaining the necessary approvals from the governing entities. FWI has been involved in developing ambulatory surgery centers for use by single practitioners to community wide cooperative projects. Because of our expertise and experience, FWI is able to save the client considerable time and effort and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
