The Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1952 that responds to all requests for emergency medical assistance in the Town of Eastchester and the Villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. EVAC is a New York State Department of Health Certified Emergency Medical Service provider which means that the Corps has met a strict set of quality assurance, equipment and response standards defined by the state. EVAC provides round-the-clock Advanced Life Support (ALS) through the use of per-diem Paramedics who support a staff of 100 volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians taking ambulance calls 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is one the most active volunteer organizations in Westchester County, responding to over 2100 calls per year!
