Norpro now manufactures products for multiple different industries that include but are not limited to, commercial marine, recreational boating, agriculture, forestry, recreational vehicles, homeowners, portable power, and standby power. Norpro continues to build its reputation based upon exceptional customer service, satisfaction, and products that are the best in the industry. Norpro continues to develop and distribute new products which allow the company to appeal to an ever-growing customer base. Since its inception, Norpro has had many notable achievements. In 2002, Norpro developed sound attenuated enclosures (sound shields), for its line of marine generators. With the help of advanced polyether foam Norpro was able to create the quietest line of generators on the market. 2002 also marked the year Norpro introduced there alternative fuel series of generators. Offering several different GM based units for those who do not want a diesel generator, or just prefer propane or natural gas. In 2003, at the Miami Boat Show, Norpro unveiled its newest line of generators powered by the popular Yanmar series of diesel engines. These units are the smallest generators on the market, they are ultra light, ultra quiet, compact, and feature the latest technological innovations and features. Norpro also began setting up a distributor network strategically placed in the major markets around the country. By requiring the distributors to stock a quantity of generators, customers receive their units in an orderly and timely fashion. To handle increased volume Norpro moved to a new production facility in East Haddam, CT. The new building tripled all office and production space and attained four more acres for a proposed distribution warehouse. 2004 marked the year in which all units, marine and industrial, would be offered with weather and sound protection enclosures to meet the demands of outside unit installations. The product line was also expanded from 4-125 kW, including an alternate fuel line ranging from 9-125 kW. Distributors were expanded around the U.S. and South America to strengthening market share. In 2005 great strides were taken to initiate sub-assemblies (cell manufacturing). With in-house wiring, panel manufacturing, plastic vacuum forming of belt guards and fan shrouds, marine and industrial enclosure assembly, foam cutting and installation, and small component assembly, the company became better equipped to meet the production floor needs. Sales offices were also created to cover Asia and Europe to meet the overseas demands for the Norpro product. At the very end of 2005 Norpro introduced its "Best in the Industry Warranty" offering a 5 year 5000 hour warranty that covers the unit completely from belt guard to genend. 2006 brought the addition of yet another engine line, Kubota. The Kubota engine is currently being used in the Power Max line with hopes to introduce it into the Navigator series on or before 2008. Other new products include Roth tanks, a line of stand-alone UL and CE approved diesel fuel tanks ranging in size from 110 - 275 gallon . Tanks can be linked together for even greater capacities. Patriot transfer switches are fully automatic transfer switches for 100 - 1200 amp services. Trailer units featuring single and tandem axels, 10-60 kW, offer versatility and make transporting large units simple. Late in the year Norpro received a patent for their cutting edge Aquashield T water cooled manifold system that delivers better heat rejection resulting in a cooler running, more efficient unit. Also, sub-assemble was moved to a larger separate facility to help accommodate increased volume of products. The new building is also used to store trailers, enclosures, and houses our new CNC machine.
