Maritime Skiff is a small New England boat company, owned by two industry veterans, Paul Hureau and his wife, Bev Brown. The concept for simple, low horsepower, moderately priced boats originated in 1991; and the first Maritime Skiffs were produced in 1992. After 15 years, those concepts of simplicity, fuel efficiency, and continual emphasis of function over form still prevail. No strangers to the marine business, Paul & Bev together have over 60 years marine experience. Paul is a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy; thus the company name Maritime. He's a retired Coast Guard Captain, and has been messing around in small boats since his childhood vacations in coastal Maine. Paul's civilian career included 18 years with Boston Whaler, the last 10 of which were spent developing their successful commercial division. You'll see the influence of years of design & testing of patrol & rescue boats in the ruggedly simple lines of Maritime Skiffs, particularly in the newer 20 & 23 cabin models. Bev's marine career spans over 30 years, selling and marketing aluminum boats for such great names as Grumman, Sea Nymph, Lowe, and Princecraft. Her experience meeting with dealers and talking with boaters provides the critical input necessary in keeping up with the needs of our customers. Our hulls and consoles are built in Maine, where traditional boat building skills and strong work ethics still prevail. The process remains the same: fiberglass grids, fiberglass transoms, foamed bottoms; a combination that results in strong, safe, quiet running boats. Boats you can depend on. Final assembly of the hulls takes place in Pembroke, Massachusetts. It's here that each boat is built to meet individual owners' requirements and then shipped to Maritime dealers.
