Oak Ridge Cabinets was founded in 1983 by Scott Bechold and Sam MacNeill. Scott and Sam were working together in a local cabinet shop and felt they had a better way to make a high-quality, more affordable product. Oak Ridge's first home was a small barn on the property of Scott's parents in Durham, California. During those early years, Sam and Scott were among the first to integrate computer aided design programs into their manufacturing. They discovered Cabnetware, a new program for designing and manufacturing custom cabinetry that was well suited to their needs.
