Lavender Bridal Salon focuses on customer service and treats the bride like a princess when she first comes in and on all subsequent visits. Inside the newly done store at 218 W. 3rd St. in Dover, OH there are three fitting rooms, each 12-by-13 feet. The large rooms allow the bride-to-be to step up on a platform and view her gown from all sides and not feel confined. There's plenty of room to move around and look at herself, and she can see her dress from a distance and not be confined. There are also four smaller dressing rooms and a medium-sized one. The store was the dream of owner Karen Stokey of Dover who purchased Teresa's Children's Apparel earlier this year from Teresa Tarulli. Teresa Tarulli now manages both operations, which are in the same location. Teresa's Children's Apparel features trendy casual and formal fashions at affordable prices. Designer brands include Cach Cach, Le Top, Sweet Potatoes, Fanci Fanci and Corky Coats. Teresa's is also the area's exclusive retailer of Robeez children's shoes. Teresa's Children's Apparel was opened in downtown Dover in 2001 by Teresa Tarulli of Dover. The goal of the store design was to achieve a very elegant look and provide a place that is easy to shop in. The bridal gown displays are in their very own section and the rods they are on have slats every six inches so that the gowns do not get crushed together when you look at one and put it back. Mirrors almost dominate the decor, but without being overwhelming. There is a children's play area, a men's lounge with sofa, chair, television and magazines. Nearby is a kitchenette with coffee. The bridal boutique offers a wide selection of contemporary and traditional bridal gowns, dresses for the mothers of the bride and groom, attendant dresses, special occasion dresses, homecoming and prom dresses, flower girl's dresses and little boy's tuxedos, tiaras, veils, jewelry and accessories, undergarments and shoes that can be dyed whatever color is desired. There are also first communion dresses. Stokey and Tarulli chose the fashion lines in an effort to purchase unique styles from companies that other nearby shops don't carry, and Lavender Bridal Salon tries to offer different styles and looks that other shops don't have. The uniqueness of Lavender Bridal Salon is unmatched - just like in the children's shop, so that you're not going to see everybody in the same dress. In fact, Lavender's sales logs assure that no duplicate homecoming and prom dresses are sold locally from out of Lavender Bridal Salon. The eight full - or part-time staff members have a combined more than 47 years of experience in the apparel business. Cathi McCulloch of New Philadelphia previously worked 11 years for Universal Bride, a bridal shop at West Lafayette. To ensure that the gown best showcases the bride's attributes, in-store seamstress Jessica Price of New Philadelphia works with her.
