Info
We provide training and education as well as certification opportunities for our members - educators of alpine, nordic, snowboarding and adaptive snowsports. We offer three levels of certification in alpine, snowboarding, nordic and adaptive teaching. We conduct over 500 educational and certification events a year, ranging in size from less than ten to five hundred attendees. Dozens of topics are offered in all disciplines in such diverse areas as teaching methods, personal skill improvement, new products, sports science, communications, customer service, gender & age related issues and much more. In addition to our primary disciplines, we offer specialized programs for children's educators, seniors and racing enthusiasts. As part of our educational focus, we are constantly evolving The American Teaching System (ATS) which is one of the most respected and progressive teaching systems in the world. Its various components, concepts, and materials are used by snowsports schools throughout the country. We conduct ongoing research and development in all aspects of the sport and its instruction, and publish educational materials for the use of our members. We promote the growth of snowsports as lifetime activities through fun and fulfilling educational experiences. A note to snowsports enthusiasts who just want to ski and ride ... Our member teachers can help make your skiing or riding experience more exciting and worthwhile. Whether your preference is alpine, snowboard, nordic track/skate, or telemark; whether you're into racing, freestyle, moguls, or just looking good; whether you are just getting started, have special physical or developmental challenges or are a seasoned expert, we can make a difference. No matter how skilled you are, you can always improve. A PSIA or AASI professional can help make the process faster, easier and safer, adding up to more fun and enjoyment.
