Apex Silver Mines Limited (Apex Silver) is engaged in the mining, exploration and development of silver and other mineral properties in Latin America. The Company has a diversified portfolio of privately owned and controlled silver, and other mineral exploration properties. Apex Silver has rights to or control over numerous claims or concessions located in or near the traditional silver producing regions of Central and South America, primarily Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Mexico. Its development property, the 65%-owned San Cristobal project located in southwestern Bolivia, is under construction. San Cristobal’s probable reserves as of December 31, 2007, total approximately 250 million tons of ore grading 55 grams per ton silver, 1.53% zinc and 0.53% lead, containing approximately 443 million ounces of silver, 8.43 billion pounds of zinc and 2.92 billion pounds of lead.(Source: 10-K)
