James Parsons holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters degree in Business Administration and has been associated with the field of laboratory testing since 1976. As Associate Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance for the New York State Department of Health's Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program, Mr. Parsons supervised clinical laboratory inspections, compliance activities and investigations for more than 1000 clinical laboratories doing business in New York State. For several years, he directed the Compliance and Laboratory Investigative Unit, focusing on problem and non-compliant clinical laboratories. Mr. Parsons co-authored and implemented the extensive laboratory standards, which are the basis of the New York State clinical laboratory regulatory program. For this accomplishment, they received the Department of Health's Wadsworth Center Recognition Award.
