Info

WDC offers service programs that extend or enhance the standard one year factory warranty. Most WDC service programs include coverage of parts, labor and preventive maintenance visits. A variety of programs are offered to meet the customer's needs. Request information about the WDC Power Plans at service@wdctech.com. 4. Is WDC system "turn on" available? WDC offers "start up" for every UPS and Power Regulator system. The "start up" entails an onsite trained engineer to ensure proper installation and operation of the WDC unit. Operation will be checked during normal and maximum operating conditions. "Start up" should be scheduled after the WDC is installed and powering the load. The WDC unit should be left in the bypass mode and activated into the "Auto" mode by the WDC service personnel. 5. What is the heat dissipation of the WDC units? Heat dissipation is based on the amount of power drawn by the load and the efficiency of the UPS or Power Regulator. The WDC products have high efficiency and therefore lower heat dissipation. The exact full load heat dissipation figures are listed in our site planning guide and product manuals. Actual heat dissipation is generally about 20 to 30% less than the site planning guide figures as the WDC unit is rarely operating under continuous full load conditions. Medical imaging applications will dissipate approximately 6,000 to 9,000 BTU/hr because the load is very dynamic with extended periods of low power idle mode. Note: The heat dissipation of the WDC UPS and the Power Regulator is the same. The WDC Power Regulator is a regenerative type which has the same efficiency as the UPS. Batteries dissipate negligible heat. 6. How much clearance space is required for WDC Products? The WDC UPS or Power Regulator requires no side or rear operating or service clearance; only front service entry is required. The WDC product sizes are listed in the site planning guide. 7. What is the maximum operating room temperature? The maximum operating room temperature for the Power Regulator and UPS control cabinet is 100 degrees F. The battery cabinet should be operated in a conditioned environment at an ideal temperature of 72 to 77 degrees F(23º to 26º C) and a maximum temperature of approximately 85 degrees F (30º C). Temperatures over 85 degrees will shorten the battery life. 8. What is the life of the UPS batteries? The UPS battery life can vary greatly depending on operating temperature, number of discharges and type of discharge. Typical battery longevity is 4 to 7 years. WDC offers battery replacement services. 9. How many minutes of battery back up will I get? The amount of battery back up time depends on the amount of power being drawn by the load. Most continuous heavy load conditions will achieve ten minutes of back up time. Medical imaging equipment will attain longer back up times. 10. Does the UPS include a power regulator? The UPS system includes the power regulator functions. All the power from the utility is routed in series through the UPS. If the utility power is present, but is of poor quality the UPS will regulate and condition the power. The stable, regulated power is routed to the sensitive load. If the utility power is extremely poor or a total outage occurs, then the UPS batteries will seamlessly supply regulated power to the load through the UPS inverter.
