At present, Deerfield Farms serves area farmers as a grain elevator, fertilizer, seed and crop protection products retailer, and grain drying, storage, handling and feeding equipment supplier. Currently Boyd's sons, Bill and John Wallbrown manage the business. Bill manages the grain and agronomy departments. John manages the equipment division and they both oversee the farming operation. The grain department is an aggressive basis trading elevator, originating grain within a 100 mile radius of Deerfield. Deerfield Farms Service employees work diligently to meet the farmers needs by offering innovative marketing alternatives. We encourage the farmer to calculate his/her cost of production; then work with him/her to design a marketing program that will minimize risk and lock in profit. We sell grain to area farmers, feedmills and to buyers throughout the Eastern US. The Agronomy Department custom applies fertilizer, crop protection products and lime to farmers' fields. We handle both liquid and dry fertilizer. Our objective is to work with the farmer to develop a cropping program that will yield them the greatest return on their investment. The Equipment Division sells Brock grain and feed bins, Farm Fans grain dryers and Hutchinson augers. Deerfield Farms Equipment employees work persistently with farmers to assess their equipment needs and design grain handling systems to best suit their situation. We erect and construct grain bins and provide timely service to help the farmer get the most from their equipment. In all areas of the company, our commitment to providing quality service to our customers has been a cornerstone to continued growth. The original farming operation still exists and is thriving. Deerfield Farms currently raises corn, soybeans, and wheat. The farms are located in Portage, Mahoning, Stark, and Columbiana counties.
