John H. Harland Company is a provider of printed products, and software and related services sold to the financial institution market, including banks, credit unions, thrifts, brokerage houses and financial software companies. The Company operates in three business segments. The Printed Products segment includes checks, direct marketing activities and analytical services marketed primarily to financial institutions. The Software and Services segment includes core processing applications and services for credit unions, thrifts and community banks, education and e-commerce solutions primarily to credit unions, lending and mortgage origination applications. The Scantron segment represents products and services sold by the Company's subsidiary, Scantron Corporation, which include scanning equipment and software, scannable forms, survey solutions, testing and assessment tools and training services. In May 2007, M & F Worldwide Corporation completed the acquisition of the Company.
