In May 2006, Wagner Industrial Electric, Inc. (WIE) was formed by merging the industrial electric divisions of two long standing and respected electrical contractors, The Wagner-Smith Company and Capital Electric Construction Company. Beginning in 1917, The Wagner-Smith Company (WSC) provided electrical construction and maintenance services to commercial, industrial and private customers throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and surrounding states. Capital Electric was founded in 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri with a product and customer focus similar to WSC, concentrating on the market area of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and surrounding Midwest states. By design, merging of the industrial segments of these two reputable companies created the foundation for Wagner Industrial Electric.
