Info

The Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute was founded in 1994 and is an Ohio-registered not-for-profit (IRS Code 501.c.3) corporation. DAGSI links the graduate engineering schools of the University of Dayton, a private institution; Wright State University, a state-assisted institution; and the Air Force Institute of Technology, a federal institution. The corporation was established to coordinate, integrate, and leverage the combined resources of the partners, including the faculty, facilities, academic programs, and other assets of the individual institutions. The resulting synergy benefits students, faculty, and local business (including Wright-Patterson Air Force Base). The DAGSI concept arose from the conviction that expanding regional education and research opportunities at the graduate level in engineering and computer science would contribute to economic growth and development through a strengthened intellectual infrastructure. DAGSI's long-term goal is to be recognized as a top-ranked graduate and post-graduate research institute. The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati joined DAGSI as affiliate members in 1996, and Miami University joined as an associate member in 2001.
