Description of American Stroke Association
The American Stroke Association (ASA), a division of the American Heart Association, exists to reduce disability and death from stroke through research, education, advocacy and fundraising. ASA's goal is, by 2010, to reduce stroke and risk from stroke by 25 percent through a variety of collaborative ventures and volunteer commitments at the local and national levels. This goal will be attained, in part, due to efforts of Operation Stroke sites around the country.
