(CWA), a "fee only" certified public accounting firm located in Dallas, Texas was founded when principal owner Darrell Cain was hired to speak at various dental study clubs as well as state and national meetings to educate dentists on the accumulation of wealth. Through his numerous speaking engagements and his sound advice, he generated enough interest to make the decision to step away from his role at Peat Marwick, now KPMG. In 1984, he embarked on a journey to share his vision of wealth accumulation to dental professionals throughout the country via his own accounting and financial consulting firm. Mr. Cain started out by traveling to see his clients and he worked with them to develop custom financial plans. Eventually, the firm expanded to a point where Darrell needed a partner. Darrell Cain and Mike Watters were personal friends during their time at Peat Marwick. In 1990, Darrell invited Michael Watters to join the firm as a principal owner and partner. Mr. Watters began lecturing in 1990 to various financial and dental associations and brought over 11 years of accounting and consultant experience to the firm. With their shared vision and experience, Cain, Watters and Associates earned a sound reputation amongst dental professionals in 48 states. Today, over 1200 dental clients visit our firm annually for their financial monitoring consultations. Our remaining clients, representing a variety of industries, have all been referred to us by one of our dentists. As we remain committed to provide a high standard of service, we are grateful to our existing clients who have continued to refer over ninety percent of our new business for over 20 years. The firm has been recognized as one of the top 80 accounting firms in the country, based on revenue and has designed financial plans for thousands of dental professionals. CWA also provides tax and accounting services, ongoing financial monitoring, practice evaluations and transitions and estate planning for their financial counseling clients.
