Amy and Stephen Schuman, co-owners of Bronze Tanning Salon in Pooler, have created a tanning salon dedicated to providing the greatest number of levels of tanning beds in a strictly sanitized environment. As a member of the International Smart Tan Network, Bronze Tanning Salon recognizes and practices specific principals and procedures in the responsible administration of ultraviolet light for tanning purposes. In addition to Amy and Stephen, the other employees have been formally and comprehensively trained to understand and follow exposure schedules on the equipment, to focus on the need for all salon clients to wear federally approved eyewear, and to teach clients to avoid sunburn and overexposure, both indoors and outdoors. " To ensure absolute sanitation for their clients, " explained Amy, " we clean the beds with a special solution approved by the Food & Drug Administration, both before and after each use.
