Info

Bedell Cellars is the premier winery on the North Fork of Long Island and one of the wine world's up-and-coming stars. A nationally recognized leader in quality, Bedell produces award-winning Merlot, Bordeaux-style blends, and a hot new Artist Series with label art commissioned from Eric Fischl and Barbara Kruger. The Corey Creek Vineyards label, also grown and produced by Bedell Cellars, is renowned for a series of small batch varietally labeled wines like Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, and most notably Chardonnay. Bedell's owner, Michael Lynne, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of New Line Cinema and Executive Producer of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is raising the bar for quality among Long Island wine estates. Working alongside Bedell's Chief Operating Officer Trent Preszler are founding Winemaker Kip Bedell, Assistant Winemaker Kelly Urbanik and Consulting Oenologist Pascal Marty, formerly of Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The Bedell facility is unmatched regionally for its sophistication. The new state-of-the-art winery was completed in 2005 and boasts custom designed open-top fermenting tanks and a gravity-driven regime to minimize pumping and filtering. The tasting room is housed in a renovated potato barn originally built in 1919. It showcases an impressive collection of contemporary art on display for the public, including works by Cindy Sherman, Sam Taylor Wood, Uta Barth and Sarah Morris. A new outdoor grand tasting pavilion was recently completed, offering visitors a sweeping view of hundreds of acres of vineyards and open farmland.
