Novare Surgical Systems, Inc. (Novare) was founded in 1999 to develop and market an innovative line of atraumatic surgical clamps, designed by Dr. Thomas J. Fogarty. In 2002, Novare introduced the Enclose® Anastomosis Assist Device for proximal anastomosis in coronary artery bypass (CABG) procedures. Today, Novare is centered on RealHand, a platform technology developed and patented by Novare Surgical. RealHand represents an entirely new category of High Dexterity (HD) instruments for minimally invasive surgery. RealHand instruments are the very first full range of motion hand-held laparoscopic instruments. With seven degrees of freedom of movement, RealHand provides dynamic tip motion which exactly mirrors the surgeon's hand direction. Additionally, RealHand instruments allow for direct tactile feedback, greater dexterity and precision.
