Phoenix Montessori Academy is an independent, non-profit school, educating students from ages 18 months to 15 years (Toddler through 9th grade). Our school was established June 19, 2004 and the first class was held on September 7, 2004. The school was founded by a group of concerned parents and a seasoned teacher, all committed to creating a loving and nurturing environment where the well-being and development of the child is paramount. Our offerings currently include toddler, primary, lower elementary, upper elementary, and middle school classes. Additionally, our children enjoy enrichment courses in Physical Education, Art, Music, Chorus, French and Spanish. Enrollment has grown from a single founding class of seventeen students to now, seven classes and over 100 children. The school is currently housed in the educational wing of the Greater Salem at the Lake Church in Cornelius, North Carolina. The Phoenix Montessori Academy Board of Directors is working diligently to secure a permanent site that will offer academic buildings, a gymnasium, administrative offices and spacious playing fields. This new site will allow Phoenix Montessori Academy to accommodate growth over the coming years and will provide all students with a learning environment that epitomizes the Montessori approach.
