In 1996, company founder Chris Jackson, an avid bicycle and ski racer, saw a growing demand for well made, functional shorts and tops designed specifically for mountain biking. This led to the creation of the Sawtooth short, which remains one of the most popular baggy bike shorts on the market. Chris named his new company Mt. Borah Designs, after the highest point in Idaho. In its first year of business, Mt. Borah produced 300 pairs of shorts, which were sold in a select few midwestern bike shops. In 2005, we manufactured over 75,000 pieces, which were distributed to over 500 independent bicycle and outdoor dealers across the U.S. In addition to creating clothing for mountain bikers, we now also make specially designed items for recumbent, road and robust riders. While bicycle gear is still the heart of the Mt. Borah line, we have expanded our collection to include multi-functional cool weather clothing, along with custom team apparel (http://www.customsublimation.com).
