In the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, almost due east of San Francisco lies the Gem of the Southern Mines, Columbia, California. A state park since 1945, the restored 1850's mining town is the home to many fine period establishments including Colmbia Kate's - A Teahouse.
