We are a group of professionals whose practice is limited to divorce, divorce mediation, separation, child custody and visitation, child support and alimony, property distribution, restraining orders, adoptions, and premarital agreements. 100% of our practice occurs in the Family Court. Our clients tend to view us as their "port" or "safe harbor" in the storm of divorce. All of our attorneys served judicial clerkships with the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part (i.e. Divorce Court). Additionally, all of our attorneys serve on the Early Settlement Panel. We are highly selective in hiring staff who are sensitive to the needs of clients dealing with these emotional issues. We work as a team, and we continuously strive to provide the highest quality legal representation to our clients at a fair fee. Need a premarital agreement for a planned marriage? We have been helping people draft premarital agreements for 20 years and would be happy to help you. Are you thinking of separation? You need to know that New Jersey has no concept of "legal separation" like many other states do. Are you in an abusive relationship? Perhaps you need a restraining order to protect you from your spouse or other loved one. Is negotiation simply not working out such that you need to ask a judge for help? A large part of our practice involves getting help for our clients from the Court. Are you already divorced but need to modify your divorce decree? A large part of our practice is involved in helping people do just that. Are you seeking to adopt your spouse's child from a previous relationship? Our office has significant experience with all types of adoptions. If you are in a court proceeding, it is important that you know how to behave in the courtroom so as to be appropriate and not offend the Court, thereby possibly damaging your case. Our "Nine Rules of Courtroom Behavior" will be helpful to you, as will our article about "Playing it Straight in Divorce Court". Are you engaged in a visitation or child custody dispute? Are there child support or alimony issues that you need help with? Are you having trouble determining how to distribute property acquired during a marriage? Our firm can help with all of these issues. Are you a commuter to New York City or other places and therefore unable to meet with our attorneys during the day? We represent many New Jersey residents who commute to Manhattan or elsewhere and as a convenience to our clients, we have evening and weekend hours available by appointment. We also have satellite offices at train station and ferries. Do you live outside of the State of New Jersey but have a case in New Jersey? We represent people from all over the country, and, indeed, from all over the world in the Family Court of New Jersey. Are you a grandparent who is being denied visitation with his or her grandchildren? Or, are you an adult sibling who is being denied visitation with a younger brother or sister? We can help with these cases. People often need access to the court system after a Judgment of Divorce or other court order has been entered. Family problems often don't simply disappear just because a legal case has ended. Many of our cases are this type of case, known to the system as "post-judgment" cases. Divorce, custody and visitation, child support and alimony cases are hard. Most judges recognize the value that psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers offer to people going through these difficult situations. Our law firm maintains a list of local therapists that have helped our clients over the years. Similarly, the financial ramifications of divorce can be difficult. Our office maintains a list of forensic accountants who can both help people who are going through financial difficulties in divorce analyze their finances, and who can also help to put a value on businesses and other assets. For 20 years -- since 1987 -- our attorneys have helped thousands of people through the emotional storms created by divorce, child custody battles, visitation disputes, and related difficulties. Divorce is not always smooth sailing. Let us be your port in the storm.
