Huron Hospital is a 211-bed acute care, teaching hospital located in East Cleveland on the former estate of John D. Rockefeller. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) offering medical services in cancer, critical care, diabetes, geriatric medicine, cardiac care, infectious disease, and surgical care. A Behavioral Medicine component providing adult inpatient and outpatient mental health, chemical dependency and detoxification services, Women's Health Center and a Level II OB Unit and Family Maternity Center are located on the hospital campus. As a Level II trauma center, supported by Cleveland Clinic neurosurgeons (on-call 24 hours a day), Huron Hospital is equipped to treat the most severe injuries. Teaching the best, Huron Hospital is well known and highly regarded for its School of Nursing as well as its Internal Medicine Residency and General Surgery Residency programs, providing training to physicians from all over the world. For outpatient care, Huron Hospital's Community Health Center provides outpatient services with specialized clinics including services for asthma, hypertension, diabetes, podiatry, glaucoma and cardiac rehabilitation.
