Info
Established in 1976 by Jake, Ben and Elliot Meltzer, Tri-State has developed into one of the fastest growing and progressive vehicle auctions in the U.S. Before opening Tri-State, these auction pioneers had owned and operated the foremost cattle auctions in Upstate New York, dating back to 1951. By the early 1960's, the Meltzers had become prominent businessmen within the community. In 1976, they decided to convert one of their cattle farms into Tri-State Auto Auction. Today, Tri-State is still owned by the Meltzers, and managed by Elliott. The original 3-lane operation has grown into a 7-lane auction arena, and the staff has grown from less than 10 people to over 300 full and part-time workers. Other key dates in Tri-State's history include:Early 1980's: Tri-State complements their Dealer Consignment business with Fleet/Lease and Repossession vehicles. 1989: Tri-State introduces new Salvage operation to over 100 insurance companies and charity organizations. 1989: Tri-State becomes exclusive liquidator of Chrysler Corporation Program units in New York State. Early 1990's: Tri-State responds to the growth of the sub-prime industry, and the need for liquidating government and bank-repossessed vehicles by offering a bi-monthly Public Auction. 5930 Route 31 | Cicero NY 13039 | Toll Free:(888) 670-0007 | Tel:(315) 699-2792 | Fax:(315) 699-9620 | Email:info@tristateaa.com
