Once again, barbecue will reign supreme in Kansas City as the American Royal celebrates its 27th Annual Barbecue Sauce Contest this fall! Not only will winners be touted as a Blue Ribbon winner at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue® but possibly the Best Sauce on the Planet! Bragging rights couldn't be bigger! The Sauce Contest is open to anyone with a sauce that is available commercially and who is proud of it! Sauces will be judged in the following categories: Tomato Hot, Tomato Mild, Vinegar, Mustard, and Specialty. If we have a category that receives less than 10 entries your entry may be moved to the Specialty category. All sauces will be judged plain and on unseasoned pulled pork. Thanks to the generosity of the Sauce Contest contestants, you too can have the opportunity to purchase these great sauces at the Diddy-Wa-Diddy BBQ Sauce Store, located in inside the American Royal Building, at the World Series of Barbecue®!
